BDRA Bulletin 2023 #2 – British Championships Announcement

Public Announcement from the BDRA Committee

The BDRA are pleased to announce that the 2023 Championships will be held on 16/17th September at BMFA Buckminster.

The original intention was to hold the Championship at Barkston Heath in conjunction with other disciplines, but this was cancelled in February as the Airfield was not available.

Prior to deciding on the date and location for the Champs the BDRA looked at alternative dates to avoid a clash with the 5th event of the KillaKwads League, but this was not possible as none were available in a reasonably central and affordable location. This was unexpected as whilst until recently there has been plenty of availability at venues, but this has been taken by others as the world recovers from COVID.

The BDRA Committee is very grateful to Cerberus Velvet and FPV Racing Solutions (FPVRS) for agreeing to move their event to a different date to enable the Champs to run on the 16th / 17th September and is sorry for the inconvenience that the rescheduling of the event has caused to Cerberus, FPVRS, KillaKwads and their venues and sponsors.

In future seasons the BDRA plans to work with all local league organisers prior to the start of the season, to map out dates for International, National and Regional events with all stakeholders being invited to be involved in setting the calendar.

The BDRA Committee want to encourage grass roots growth of the hobby and would like to bring proposals to the next AGM to encourage this.

Finally, whilst the congestion in the calendar has been difficult for everyone to manage this year, the BDRA is really pleased with the increased activity indicating that the racing scene is once again growing in strength and numbers.
