British Championship Qualifying Event (BQE) Applications – 2024 Season

Please complete all fields below to apply for your Race event to be added to the national BDRA Calendar for the 2024 season. Note it is proposed to have a period of consultation with pilots about the format of BQE’s following discussions at the AGM. These will then be discussed and adopted at an EGM, in January 2024. Applicants are advised that this might affect how events in 2024 are run.

Please check the BDRA Events Calendar before submission to check your event is not clashing with another already booked – https://bdra.uk/events/. Clashing events may be considered if the season’s race calendar is busy and events are far enough apart in the country.

NOTE: All Race Organisers must have run at least one successful ‘fun fly’ event – and the BDRA receives good feedback from this – before an application for a British Championship Qualifying Event (BQE) will be considered.

Once submitted – please allow 14 days for a response from the BDRA Committee. This will be via email to the address given in the form below.

Please list details of previous events you/your club have organised including pilot numbers and any other relevant details
NOTE: If you struggle to reach the minimum pilot numbers then please contact the BDRA ahead of your event.
Details should include full address, type of venue (open field, sports ground etc.) and any facilities that are available on site during the proposed event (toilets, bar, food etc.)
If ‘Variation’ please give a brief description of the proposed changes below. Please note any changes from the standard rules must be advised on iFPV preferably at the time of advertising sign up but no later than 2 weeks before the event.
If ‘Other’ please note the timing equipment being used in the ‘Course Equipment’ box above. Timing equipment is available on loan from the BDRA at no charge to affiliated clubs.

Tick all that apply. Any courier fees will need to be covered by the borrowing club unless other logistics arrangements can be made. If being sent by courier the shipment must be covered for at least £1,000 in value should it be lost or damaged in transit.
NOTE: We are aware there is no way for Race Organisers to check the validity of the Operator ID displayed – this responsibility remains with the pilot for it to be correct. Race Organisers are purely checking that it exists on drones participating in the event in the correct format.
NOTE: This can be automatically handled by InsideFPV if you chose to use their service as your booking agent for the event(s)
