Announcement:

The British Drone Racing Association will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 20th October 2019, starting at 19:00 BST. It will be held online with members invited to participate using discord whilst viewing a live video broadcast from the committee. The AGM is open to BDRA members only.

Welcome and introduction

– Review/accept the minutes of the previous AGM (link below)
– Financial Report
– Proposals presented to Committee for inclusion at the AGM
– Membership fees
– Date of next AGM
– Election of Central Council members
– Break as votes are counted and new Committee announced
– Close
– Q&A with the new Committee for those who want to stay

Election of Central Council members:

The posts of Chairman and Membership Secretary are open for nomination. The existing committee members will stand for re-election. In accordance with the constitution, nominations for Central Council positions must be sent by email to secretary@bdra.uk at least 14 days before the AGM, along with the name and contact email of the seconder. This must also be a fully paid up member.

Proposals for inclusion

All propositions for consideration must be submitted, by fully paid up members, to the Secretary by email to secretary@bdra.uk by midday Sunday 6th October 2019, along with the name and contact email of the seconder. This must also be a fully paid up member.

UK Drone Racing Open International Registration

This is the UK’s first FAI World Cup which is being hosted at the BMFA Nationals. This an opportunity for you to qualify as a part of ‘Team GB’ or as a part of the qualification process as a individual pilot to participate at the FAI World Championship that is hosted in China later this year.

This event will also crown the BMFA Nationals Drone Racing Champion!

You must have a FAI License to compete at this event, to obtain a license complete the application form on the link below and submit to the BMFA. It usually only takes a few days to process the application.

Specific optional rules for this event will be published in due course, but expect TBS Crossfire to be allowed, *NO* LED’s required.

Saturday/Sunday – FAI World Cup
Monday – Open Track (Free for competitors/ small charge for non-competitors)

We will be using the Dronogate inflatable course with addition track components, we will have a large pit marquee with tables and chairs for all competitors. Live Racing on TV screens, Tiny Whoop racing in the evenings + more tbc.

Race Results Glasgow FPV QE

Here are the official results for the second race in the Scottish region that was hosted on the 12th May by Glasgow FPV.

Congratulations to Jon Hall on 1st place, Daniel Callander on 2nd and Brian Nicolson on 3rd place in the ‘A’ Final.

This race was a Scottish regional ‘British Championship Qualifying Event’ so points earned as a member of the BDRA will go to the Scottish leaderboard. These are the points awarded based on your FINALS position, if you are greyed out you were not a member of the BDRA at the time of the event.

Race Results Suffolk FPV R1 QE

Here are the official results for the third race in the South East region that was hosted on the 5th May by Suffolk FPV. Congratulations to Chris Knight on 1st place, Daniel Peters on 2nd and Rob Saxton on 3rd place. Not only did these pilots finish the A final in these positions but they also qualified in the same order.

This race was a South East regional ‘British Championship Qualifying Event’ so points earned as a member of the BDRA will go to the South East regional leaderboard. These are the points awarded and the points system is based on your QUALIFYING position, if you are greyed out you were not a member of the BDRA at the time of the event.

Race Results Westland FPV 1 QE

Here are the official results for the second race in the South West region that was hosted on the 4th May. Congratulations to Gary Kent on 1st place, Alfie Mitchell on 2nd and Matt Evans on 3rd place in the ‘A’ Final. For qualifying results please see the graphic below.

This race was both a South West regional ‘British Championship Qualifying Event’ so points earned as a member of the BDRA will go to the South West leaderboard. Race Results NW Go Kart Track QE

Here are the official results for the second race in the Northern region that was hosted on the 27th April. Congratulations to Jon Hall on 1st place, Bash Hussain on 2nd and Jon Rogers on 3rd place in the ‘A’ Final. For qualifying results please see the graphic below.

This race was both a North regional and a national ‘British Championship Qualifying Event’ so points earned as a member of the BDRA will go to both leaderboards. Race Results Edinburgh Drone Racing QE

Edinburgh Drone Racing hosted a ‘British Championship Qualifying Event’ on the 21st April 2019. This was their first race of eight races in the Scottish FPV Racing Series.

This race was a regional ‘British Championship Qualifying Event’ so points earned as a member of the BDRA will go to the Scottish Regional leaderboard which will be updated shortly. These are the points awarded and for the Scottish region points are based on your FINALS position, if you are greyed out you were not a member of the BDRA at the time of the event.

Registration is £60 for members of the BDRA or £65 for non members.

BDRA Members have exclusive access to event registration for the first 3 days of availability. Register as a member here https://bdra.uk/join/

Sign up goes live on ifpv.co.uk at 8pm on Friday the 3rd May if you are not a member of the BDRA or registered with iFPV then you may consider registering with both to give you the best chance of securing a ticket to the event. Any remaining tickets will be available to non members from 8pm Monday 6th May.

Saturday/Sunday – British Championship Qualifying Event.

Race Results Suffolk FPV QE

Suffolk FPV hosted a ‘British Championship Qualifying Event’ on Saturday over the bank holiday weekend. This was their first QE of the year and has both national & regional status. Overall the south east region has now hosted 3 regional races (1st Drone Base, 2nd EMHC) and this is also the 3rd ‘national’ classed event for the UK. Finals positions were Chris Knight in 1st place,  Alex Kubrak in 2nd and Brett Collis in 3rd place. Brett Collis was also the ‘Top Qualifyer’ so scores maximum points.
